| I just learned Bark At The Moon. Not the solos of course, but I can play the whole song. I do cheat a little on a few parts and don't play it exactly, but close enough for jazz! | |

| Actually, I just hooked up with a bassist/drummer combo Not too fond of them, they kind of seem like little kids, but after a few gigs, I can dump 'em and pick up some better guys | |

| Wow he can play bass and drums at the same time??!?
That's a mean thing to do. Don't assume they won't work out.

| Well, I got together with them once already. Not a very good first impression. The drummer doesn't strike me as fast enough, and the bassist is well, weird. They have a PA system though, so I don't care | |

| Don't get married to the first person you meet that has a PA. Remember that if you end up forming a band, all your ideas and property get all mixed together... At least don't let anybody think you're doing anything serious. It is good to get experience playing woth different people, but not so much when you end up in a crappy band with ppl you don't really like. | |

| Good advice. That whole idea thing is the reason I'm not letting them near the song writing process. Don't need anyone tampering with what I'm trying to do (or worse - steal my ideas). | |

| Good call. If you have ideas that you care about, don't share until you're done writing. If you have a really close friend that you want to write with, then that's a different story. | |

| I haven't had a (musical) friend close enough that I can share personal ideas with for a while. I almost had somethin' cool with one guy, but he's just too "tied-down" by his parents. He's also pretty lazy too. | |

| If you can't change your friends, change your friends.
In high school, I usually found myself writing music alone, and recording it alone, then teaching it to a group after i knew it good enough. Nowadays, if I end up finishing a song, I'll record the whole thing, hand it to J and ask "whaddaya think?" then depending on his reaction, we learn it or I toss it into the 'solo' stack.
There's nothing wrong with going it solo if noone is around that can enhance your expression. Greifenstein is a one-man-band and he does some brutal shit. I wish i could've put an umlaut in there...
btw, fuck lazy people. Passion is the heart and soul of music - other than pitch and rhythm, of course.

| Dale has a great point. Don't settle on a band. wait for the right people, and don't let their lack of talent slow you down.
If they can't hang... Move on.

| So i think when i sell my Alexi I will get a cheap 7-string guitar to mess around with. At first none really stood out as looking cool. They all looked the same. Then I saw this one: I really like the Bat inlays! I don't care too much for EMG pickups, but they aren't bad. | |

| Nothing says "I'm obsessed with Dimebag" than an acoustic version: | |

| No kidding! I hust played an acoustic flying V... Cool, but impractical and unsatisfying as far as literal acoustics go. Not very lout, and a rather flat tone. Probably fine as a stage guitar, using the pickup, but use a dred to record with.. Now THESE are the fucking FUTURE! | |
