How did you get here?

So I was actually wondering how people got here. What is your "relationship" to the other people on the board. I'll start.

How Did You Get Here?: I went to see Slayer the day before Thanksgiving, circa 2001. I had recently started a metal show on WLUW-FM and was eager to get show IDs from bands such as Slayer. So I was in the alley behind the Aragon jamming a microphone into anyone from a band's face and getting them to do an ID for my show. After assaulting nearly everyone in Slayer in this manner some guy in a band came up to me along with his meathead bass player and ended up giving me a CD. The band? Dark Ritual. Well, Dark Ritual eventually disbanded, but you may know their singer and bass player from their current band Something Beautiful. Dale and Justin were the first guests I ever had on my radio show. They ended up being the last guests as well, and actually hold the mantle of being the ONLY guests on the show, at least from an actual band. So yeah, that's my story. Yours doesn't have to be as long, but I am curious.

I saw Edguy at the pearl room, when some asian dude came from around the corner and started recording questions. So I piped in with my opinion and he gave me a sticker. I found out he was with the opening band, 'Something beautiful'. They kicked ass! I was sure to swing by their rinky-dink merch booth (operated completely by Justin). I picked up their CD, a pick from dale, and a pack of matches. I went home, and looked at the site advertised on the Sticker. the rest is brief history...

I'd argue that that guitarist was the meathead in that situation!!! We'll have to podcast some stories...

I took lessons at a guitar store that Dale worked at. After one of my lessons he asked if I wanted to buy his Demo and a shirt and get my name in the special thanks section of the CD. He was big scary and intimidating, so i said sure. Many moons later I got said CD and liked it. Around that time Dale left the store and I started working there making friends with Meatshield, and Joe Ciway. Every so often I heard a few people talk about running into Dale, or hanging out with him, but I hadn't seen him since the guitar store.

Meatshiled and Joe formed Fallen Savior with 2 other guitar players and a singer. Things went south and Meatshield left the band. They then became Hellement with a new drummer and eventually a bass player. I helped them out much like I help SoB currently, and they played a show at NiteCap oddly enough with Something Beautiful. Joe went to go hang out and talk with Dale, and since I didnt know anyone else I followed. I was introduced to Dale, even though I knew who he was. Joe said to Dale this is Matt Wolf, to which Dale replied, "The Matt Wolf"? Hoping there was no one else cashing in on my name I said yes.

I enjoyed their set and wanted a CD but had no money, so I said next time I will buy it.

A few months later at YOTI Bar Hellement played another show with SoB. After Hellement played I still wanted to take pictures so I took pictures of SoB playing. They played Holding On which I thought was the best song I had heard in a long time and needed to hear it again, so I bought their CD... only to later find it wasnt on there!!! Yar!

I gave Dale the pictures eventually, and he liked them, so I said I would take some more pictures for him in the future, which ended up being at Legends in Addison.

The rest is history...

The story of how I met Dale aka the best story EVER!!!!!!!!!

So a couple years ago I was at a convention called Sugoicon. While I was there I went to the Voices For Peace concert, and I danced and sang and had a really great time rocking out.
Awhile after the show Dale came up to me in the lobby and thanked me for coming to the show and being so cute and awesome (or something). lol
We talked for a little bit and I told him how I had this big crush on this hott Japanese chick who was a guest at the con and I had just blown all my money buying a CD of her pictures so that I could get her to sign it. And that was all the money I had for the con so now I couldn't buy food.
Dale sympathized but him and Auggie had other stuff to attend to so they left and I started playing twister (This is where Dale would complain about missing me playing twister in a mini skirt).
About an hour later, here comes Dale into the lobby with a sandwich for me. It was the sweetest thing EVER!!!!
The last day of the con before closing ceremonies Dale gave me (and signed) a copy of the Something Beautiful CD.

AND I HAVE BEEN A HUGE FAN EVER SINCE!!!!!!!!!!!! ^_^<3

Oh and Dale made me join the forum. He said he'd abuse me outside of an elevator if I didn't!



The story of how I met Sen (a member of the forum):

I was at ACen and I was doing a lingerie shoot in one of Dales hotel rooms with a great photographer I know named Sito.
Sen, along with Justin and I think #4, walked in.
It wouldn't have been so bad if it was just Justin and #4. But having a guy I don't know walk in while I'm in my underwear is just embarassing! T_T

Having Dale abuse you in an elevator is worse!

Yea, the old "Well the elevator is stuck so we should huddle up to stay warm" trick won't work a third time

Wait, you have no problem with taking pictures in your underwear, but it's embarrassing to have a guy you don't know walk in while said pictures are being taken?

Are there places one could see said pictures? You know, just out of curiousity.

I once had to do a car wash fundraiser for the wrestling Team. So the coach sent me and another guy out in singlets onto the street corner to promote it. This was all during the farmer's market, so everyone from school saw me in my ridiculous state.

How do i know SoB? Wow thats a long story. Well at the age of like 12 i took guitar lessons from Dale. Eventually worked with Dale for a while and was a big fan of the great Dark Ritual. Lol probably got Dale in trouble a few times while i worked at the store from not answering some questions correctly from the boss. Eventually Dark Ritual turned into SoB and i followed the music. After Dale left the store i remember seeing him a few times walking down a street, which looked like a great black cloud seeing how it was summer and he walked around with all black clothes which included a trench coat and army boots. ROFL.

Man this is long.... Thats what she said!

Anyway yea then i just started showing up to shows.

I first met Dale LONG LONG ago, at a convention called Sugoicon... Damn... what....Six years ago?

Back when he was in a band, with a bunch of misfits, and some pink-haired girl... Together, they were called "SWEK"

My friend wanted Dale to sign the drumstick that he had gotten from the show, and, as an equal trade, he had Dale hold on to me to make sure he wouldn't run off.

Then, years later, at yet another Sugoicon, there was a band, called Voices For.... and for some reason, the guitarist looked really familur...

They were at Ohayocon as well... and that's when it hit... I KNOW YOU!

And, things have been epic ever since...
